The Origin
From the Mountains of Mie, Japan
Japan's Mie Prefecture has a long and narrow terrain with mountains and seas, with a temperature and water source optimal for the growth of tea trees. Hojicha is roasted Japanese green tea — made by frying or roasting the stems of green tea leaves at up to 200°C. The roasted leaves are golden in colour, strong in aroma, with a unique roasted character. The caffeine is largely volatilised during roasting, making it suitable for all ages.
